(From The Disney Channel Magazine, May 1985): "Your master of Mousterpiece ceremonies, George Plimpton, shares his treasure of trivia about Disney's animated gems. Among the cartoons selected this month, big game hunter Donald almost gets bagged in "No Hunting," and Pluto wages a nutty war on chipmunks in "Food for Feudin'."

  • Does any1 know the name o'an old disney show were they'd take cartoon clips and they'd combine it with music?.It's not "silly symphonies" b/c what I'm thinking about came out in the 90's.

  • @yoyoyoy500 D-TV I think is what you're remembering. Sometimes it was a full half hour, and other times it was just one song between shows.

  • whats the name of the piece ( music) I love it, and remembered trough the years

  • @spinfox2000 I wish I knew! Hopefully someone else will. :)

  • @spinfox2000

I posed the same question on the Talk Classical forums. Someone on there managed to find out. It's the last third of Jean-Joseph Mouret's Sinfonies de Fanfare titled "Fanfares." You can find a good rendition of it posted by user: theprof1958

Man, been wanting to know that answer for years and years. Funny how near it was all this time!

  • @oddtomv If you have a good link to that song, you can post it and I'll put it in the info box for others who are wondering the same question and don't care to look through the replies. I see that user has several. Thanks for solving the mystery! :)

  • I'm so deeply saddened as what The Disney Channel has become today. The Channel has seriously gone downhill after 1996. I miss Lunchbox, Mousterpiece Theatre, those old Disney cartoons they use to air, and the old Disney cartoons with music from the 60s. They also had great bumpers. They never had commercials either. Avonlea was a good program too. Classic Winnie The Pooh, etc. Now the channel is all about teenie bopper music, and teenie bopper shows. R.I.P. The Disney Channel

  • THIS is what Disney Channel (Family Channel) was truly all about - the cartoons! Not all this Hannah Montana/High School Musical/Jonas Brothers crap you see nowadays

  • Once in a blue moon when disney channel was putting their paid channel for free....i would watch this religiously. I miss the old disney channel

  • I remember watching the Disney Channel the very first day it aired in 1983. I woke up at 4:30 in the morning and waited for it to sign on. It was like going to Disneyland when you couldn't. Now, all I do is skip over it. It's sad what's happened to it. But when you have corporate executives deciding what kids want to watch, the crap you see now is the crap you get. Nothing like watching 'Family" programs that portray the parents and other adults as morons , idiots and fools. Kinda explains allot

  • This was back when The Disney Channel actually was The *Disney* Channel, airing programs that actually features *Disney* characters. Such a shame how far it's fallen since. I'm surprised kids these days even know who Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, etc. are.

  • (*Bangs head against wall over how STUPID The Disney Channel has become compared to this*)

  • Walt Disney Channel at its prime ;)

  • This brings back memories of watching the Disney Channel when it first came on during the 1980s. It seems like George Plimpton was for sale to the highest bidder. I also remember him from those old Mr. Intellivision commercials. Mouseterpiece Theatre and Mr. Intellvision. Wow, George.

  • Wow! This is the first time I have heard this intro since I was a little boy...really brings back a lot of great memories. Disney Channel sucks for kids today....shame..

  • Wow realy brings back memories. Shame no one has even one episode in its entirety. :(

I agree that the Disney Channel caters to what teens today want, and that is only what is of today. Most teens today are nothing more than sheep willing to accept what is shoved in front of them.
