Ah, I thought someone might ask that, so I looked it up. It's a "Trig Point" (Triangulation point) set there by the Ordnance survey as a Reference height for establishing accurate heights around there. This one (like all of them) is marked on the map by a tiny blue triangle, and the height - 132m (above mean sea level). Whew! Hope no one else asks!

It is indeed, James, and I had a wonderful time there. Could have stayed there all day but batteries run out and so do memory cards . . Plus, you wouldn't want a diet of same field for the next 25 uploads, now would you?
