  • From my experience, swapping a motherboard with the same chipset is seamless in Windows 7, you don't have to re activate or anything. I have done a chipset upgrade on a full retail license. It worked, windows 7 updates took care of all the main drivers except my USB 3.0 driver that I had to install from the ECS website. I did have to re activate windows, but it went fine.

  • fix your ram placement, and your octopus underneath your video card.

  • @zomgwtfbbqbagel I actually did go in afterwards and clean up the wiring under the card. It was not awful, not anything to disrupt airflow, but I'm with you, it's worth cleaning up.

  • i am about to do a build inside the Antec Lan Boy Air. I can't wait to document it, in HD this time.

  • thanks for this ..I'm replacing my MB and CPU ... I still have my OS installed on the drive ... do I have to wipe and do a reinstall of the OS?

  • Cliff, thanks for the guide. Just about to try my second build and really needed some tips on cable management!
