The reason why the Titan is whipping Chevy's ass, is Technology DOHC heads vs Pushrods 2 Valve per cylinder. The Titan 5.6L only makes 317hp but produces 385 ft/lbs of torque vs the Chevy's 5.3L 320ph and 335ft/lbs of torque. With 4 valves per cylinder the Titan has way better throttle response.
NISSAN 5.6L
317hp --385 Ft/LB @ 3400rpm (385Ft/LB at just 3400rpm excellent of light acceleration)
CHEVY 5.3L
320ph -- 335Ft/LB @ 4300rpm
