That sounds like a good idea, if there is unused space. Generally though, I think we cram the trays full of as many seedlings as will fit.

do you cover the unused wet portion of the tray with plastic to prevent evaporation?

cut an old sock into strips , spiraled it through the dirt (root ball) ,then put the remaining wick in a cup of water& nutes next to the plant. Sucks it up like a straw.
