A teenager finds that his get rich quick scheme is more than he bargained for.

Full cut coming soon.

Shot in a twelve hour period of time starting around 11:30 pm pst Friday, November 2nd. Shot specifically for project direct, the original idea fell apart due to issues with the cast. The producers had found out around 8:30pm that Friday that their leading lady was ill and had almost completely lost her voice, and that her son, the young star of the movie wasn't going to be accessible until after 10am the next day when the call time of the shoot was 7am. Witnessing the imminent failure of their project, the producers were at a complete loss. Out of nowhere, just before 9pm, producer Anthony Villanueva threw out a wild suggestion about a kid deciding to sell weed for some extra money. The group immediately went into development on the story and by ten o'clock they had their basic synopsis, cast, locations, and adrenalin. First shooting all over a local apartment complex, then moving to the streets and eventually a local park for the twilight climax. Dialogue, characters, cinematography, and overall composition being improvised on the spot brought the best out of the first time partnership, as well as the cast, most of which were participating in their first on screen performances.

Editing the project was a labor in itself and ultimately the inspiration to release two seperate versions of the movie. CLockman's original cut of just the first scene where Prime and Ryan make their deal ran three minutes and twenty seconds, that was with almost half of the material cut out as it was. "I felt as if I was about to cry everytime I had to cut a single frame of Face (Prime) or CJ (Buddy) out of the movie.", said CLockman about following the seven minute time frame of the contest. "They both have such a huge presence in life and art, but we would have gone over on time even if all we had submitted was their scenes smashed together with nothing else. We had considered cutting it the way we wanted and letting the seven minute mark fall where ever it did in the story, but decided that if we actually wanted to have any real chance at being a contender that we would have to present some form of the full story within the seven minutes."

"Green" was a labor of passion and group insomnia, with the producers hopes that the masses will enjoy their work. After agreeing to enter the contest together, Broke Films and Alluvous chose to do a YouTube fast, refusing to watch any other submissions until after theirs had been uploaded and submitted.

  • This was great! 2 Thumbs Up!! The actors, production, and quality were on point. I feel like I watched a whole movie in 6 min.

  • Great short. My video wasn"t player smoothly; however, the script, the scenes, the actor, directing, production were well thought out for such a quick turn around.

  • Great movie man. I hate cutting it down to 7 minutes because you have to take out the best parts that don't advance the story. I uploaded a directors cut for my movie that includes everything. Good luck bro
