I like Uigeadail a lot. I've come round to it. Yum. That's interesting what you say about the Beast. Wasn't aware of the evolution it underwent before going extinct. I've got a bottle of Peat Monster and Uigie open now. I like the Uigie more. The Peat Monster is thinner and not not as mouth coating. The finish is nice, however, and it goes great with food, whereas the Uigie tends to overpower snacks and meals. I'll get a bottle of Talisker and Galileo when my open bottles run dry. Thanks!

I happen to disagree with you. The 3 different expressions of Nam Beist happened to be alright, but progressively got more "plain". Don't get me wrong, they are delicious. The problem with your statement doesn't account for the loads of people who enjoy a combination of peat and sweet fortified wine influence. I like the Galileo almost as much as Alligator; however, they both have a complexity and richness that the three Nam Beist lack. If you want Nam Beist, try some indie bottlings.

Galileo is shytie compared to Airigh Nam Beist. Louis Vuitton marketing can never replace the beauty of a well made beast like Beist. Fer the love of fine crafted art in a dram, cut the gimmicks, Ardbeg, please, an bring us back the whisky we love! Or something closer than this rocketship fueled by rotten peat. The magic was in Beist! Galileo is a dismal second fiddle to what was once a beastly good concoction.

I finally tasted this 2 days ago. I almost hate to say that I really didn't like it at all. It has more iodine than peat/smoke. While the finish is long, the palate mostly just tastes sweet and it's frankly sort of 'hot' for a sub-50% whisky. I regularly drink cask strength whisky and found this to be more spirity. I'd rather have a Caol Ila 12. If you are a typical Ardbeg peathead, try before you buy.

Ouch! At $148 per bottle, I'll never want to actually drink it!

In space, no one can hear you scream (or retch) when you taste this.
