A quick demonstration of a home made tamboura for http://www.instructables.com/id/Cigar_box_sitar_tamboura/
The tamboura is a fretless Indian lute with a buzzing bridge. This one has 3 drone strings.

I was just doing a line check for the recording, but I decided to post this as the demo because my cat seemed to enjoy it

  • Well, the fact that you made a home made tamboura to me is pretty sweet.

  • i enjoyed this a lot. tamboura is just so soothing. fixed a broken thrift store one. made a tall bridge and used a sitar

lower bridge and added a few more harmonic strings. play both layers. be creative and who cares about the cult of so called experts. experimenting is what brings new and interesting music out. keep going. you are having fun and that is what it is all about.

  • that sounded SOOOO good. the way you played those same three notes over and over again with no rhythm or melody. omg that was amazing. cool cat!
