Children today are a digital generation, Dr. Willard Daggett told the Canton, Ohio, Regional Chamber of Commerce at its Annual Dinner on Feb. 11, and they do in order to learn. If learning is relevant, based in real-world problems or situations, Daggett said, kids can learn. They need to see relevance more than any other generation, he declared. Furthermore, he said, relevance makes rigor possible. And the highest performing schools in the United States have figured out how to make rigorous education relevant. They are not spending more money or working harder. They are just doing things differently. Visit http://www.BuildingStarkByDegrees.org for more information.
