I love how puppy ACD's ... really think they are big dogs :)... Love this breed.

She's a defiant little toughie. That's a sweet little pup. I said goodbye a few weeks ago to my best friend who was a red ACD. He would have been 17 in November if it weren't for inoperable cancer. I will never forget him.

(spacemadness123) Of course.
Anyway, nice puppy you got there. ^^ I don't clicker train, though. I prefer the old methods. My red girl is a year and a half old now, they're great dogs. :P

so you're saying you can basically apply this clicking technique to other tasks?

Glad you liked it! How's your new pup doing?

...absolutely!! Google click & treat, clicker training for TONS of information and how to's.This is not the only method I use, but one that has given me exceptional results. I have also "clicker trained" my pet birds. They know *high five*, *flip*, *dance*, retrieve, come when called(they are free flighted) and many others. No you don't live with a clicker in your hand. It's just a tool and eventually weaned out. It's a marker for the desired behavior.

what is the purpose of this?

...a fun way to teach the pup "how to learn". To stimulate the brain, making it easier for the pup to learn and train in future endeavours.
