typical android activation bypass doesn't work on the mytouch 3g

it didn't work for me
this is an original mytouch 3g, no 3.5mm headphone jack at the top
and its running android 1.6

I need the updates for upgrade my G1 1.0 to 1.6. in the official OTA updates page some links are not working

@mrlonely809 actually with the G1, you're in luck. Look up "G1 activation without data plan" and there are a couple websites that can help you.

the gist of what you'll do is bypass the activation temporarily to connect to a wifi signal, and then procede from there. I got a G1 after this, and it worked like a charm

but you have the option to borrow a friends sim card

take it to tmobile to have them update it to 2.2

or

perhaps purchase web data plan for a day or month

click menu button then set up wifi

just wait till its about to die then you can ask why and it will take you to the settings and turn on the wifi then you do it from there make sure u make a video showing ppl how to do it thanks

you could use someone else sim card with a data plan an use your gmail. after you sign in then you put your sim card a sync everything threw wifi .. hope this help.
