  • Hey I had some questions about the pads and kick. First my pads are getting bad and the sound is not real great anymore, im going to have to get them replaced, was wondering what you had on yours, and bout how much each head costs. And also i recently bout a double pedal for my kick and now that ive been using it the sound is really bad, i can barely hear it sometimes, i need to get that fixed soon. How is this fixed? Do i need to just replace the kick, or also do some work in there?

  • Open the pads and check are they soldered properly.

  • Hey Ive had my dd502 for bout a year now and some of the pads when i hit them are not as loud as they used to be or as soft anymore. And also i bought a a double bass pedal for the kick and now that ive been using it my kick is really quiet, its getting to where you only hear the actual drum and the kick not the sound of it as much. I was wondering what heads and everything you replaced yours with and about how much each head is, also are they soft or have more bounce back to them?

  • I used a mesh head modification, you can see it in stratocaster539's video. They have much better rebound.

  • what pads did u replace your originals with?

  • I modified them to use mesh heads.

  • Hi jdonko14,

On a DD-502 kit, strip pads down, cut section below bottom head.

    I I ____

    I I I I

Piezzo assembly, has plastic disc stuck to metal disc. Discard metal disc, remove foam pad, thin pad, use furniture foam pads to form cylinder (about 4-5) shape with knife. ___ (____) (______) (_______) (________)

Use round foam pad, cut hole in the centre (holds foam cylinder piezo assembly, in place.) Assemble, tighten head repeat with other pads,
