RARE... (please click to read)
Santa Cruz Skateboard's 1990 Video "A Reason For Living" - The Video Soundtrack - Without the sounds of urethane rolling and snap and scrape of maple...
I scanned the inner and outer liner (it changes to the inner every minute or so)
Please maximize the video to your screen and view it at 720p HD, not to mention the sound is better!
Shrink wrapped with the VHS was an audio cassette containing the music used (with their permission) as the soundtrack.
A lot of people lost the cassette over time and I finally managed to find it and record it, so this is pretty rare. This is the lesser known punk / rock skate music of the 1980s that we skaters enjoyed. I don't think any of these bands are still around aside from The Faction (Steve Caballero's band that he played bass in ).
I apologize on some of the tracks there is some ground loop hum on the sections with lower volume. Hope you enjoy it.
Note: 2 Naked Raygun songs appeared in the video, Treason and Never Follow.
Diatribe's song in the video was Needle Park. Blast! also had a different song than featured here. Please see my profile to see all the songs as I upload them.
Tracklist for the entire cassette:
(side 1)
1. The Weirdos - Solitary Confinement
2. Spider Baby - Song That Ate Spider Baby
3. Sioux Nation - Laws
4. Penal Kennel - Rooster Crust Swamp Villians
