  • so, adding liquid to dry instead of dry to liquid does what exactly?

  • @talleyho12 Your yeast dies if it's not rising. I suggest dissolving the yeast in 85°F-95°F water make sure all the yeast is dissolved. I'm sure you know how to do this. The key is the warm water. You don't want it hot and you don't want it cold. If it's too doughy add more flour. The consistency of the dough before you put it out to rise should thick. Enough to hold the dough together but also not be rock hard.

  • I was looking for a video to help me make homemade bread. I'm not even into the video 2 minutes & she says to be sure to measure over your bowl. BIG mistake! You NEVER pour your ingredients over your bowl. This is rule #1 in cooking, especially baking. If you mess up & over pour extra ingredients could fall into the bowl. Will have to look for another instructional video for home made bread.

  • Slosh it up on the side of the bowl much?

  • Does anybody at expert village ever read the many comments about how difficult it is to find the relevant follow up videos?..............It is so frustrating and time consuming. Exsasperating even!!!!!!!

  • Salt kills the yeast (1 teaspoon per loaf). Sweetness - sugar/honey/molasses or whatever your using for feeding the yeast ( try 1 tablespoon per loaf). Dead old yeast? (always proof the yeast for 15 minutes in warm water and a little sweetness). If it doesn't rise buy new yeast. Mix all ingredients really well with half the flour first then slowly add the rest of the flour. Try rising in a tea towel covered sink with 2 inches hot water. Hotter oven, longer bake? Use fresh bread flour.
