My family has faught in every conflict this country has been in since leaving Europe and Canada in the 1850's. I listened to the advise of my grandfater, "never volunteer for anything". If your country calls on you, it is your duty as a citizen to defend your family and neighbors freedom. Please, there is a distinct difference between the United States of America, and the "American Government". Its own citizens don't even trust their government. Know your enemies.
