@rica9607 -Your statements are based on prosperity preaching-NOT BIBLICAL TEACHING. First, the tithes were always FOOD NOT MONEY. Offerings-like burnt sacrifices, are a part of the law-old testament. Christians today are not held to the tithing because it was ANNULLED(Hebrews 7-18) Please do more research on this issue; using your bible, not some prosperity pimps pathetic lies.

(continued 1mike2sanchez). I hated my life. But then a small glimpse of hope came in the way of Jesus. I realized one day that if I trusted Christ with my salvation then why not with my finances. I started to tithe and many miracles started to happen. Now not because of my tithe but because of the heart condition it was given with. No words can change you view on tithe and offering. Do you believe in Jesus Christ? You are not required to pay tithe and offering. It is a heart condition. You see I used to look for every excuse to avoid to have to give my money to the church. I believed that that's all they wanted from me. I hit rock bottom, I became homeless and ran far away from God. Many people reached out to me because of there love for Christ. Good question! NOWHERE in the Old or New Testaments was anyone ever instructed to tithe money! God instructed the nation of Israel to tithe FOOD ITEMS not money. We are no more obligated to tithe under the New testament covenant than we are to make animal sacrifices. Tithing money did not start until 4th century AD by the apostate church; it's a legalistic doctrine that has crept into the actual church. The fact that people talk about tithing in terms of money shows how great the deception is!
