Steve Perry, God of AOR, we gather here today on 22nd January to celebrate that most awesome of times, your birthday. I'm sure I speak for every insane (and stubborn) Perry fan that we adore you and that nobody can compete with you no matter how hard people are trying to convince us otherwise. Have a fantastic day, dear boy, and take it easy.
Sorry there wasn't a birthday vid in 2008. Bloody exams. While this time last year I was melting my brain with revision, this year I'm rockin' out. Hell yeah. Things are looking good.
I'm also quite pleased that after 2 years or so, I've finally done this track. About bloody time. It was always a much-loved Journey song of mine, and that's saying something. Better still, my throat doesn't hurt after singing all those ridiculously high notes. I bet that'll come back to haunt me in 10 years though.
On my obsessive musicians'-birthday-note, happy birthday also to Steven Adler (the awesomely permed ex-GN'R drummer) and the late Michael Hutchence.
