I dont date darkskinned girls usually either,only a few times in my whole life.I dont see myself settling down with a darkskinned girl..Theres nothing wrong with that.Im light brown myself.

yea this aint even an issue back home you can date whatever complexion or race of person you want.American blacks too afro-centric for me..

My guess is that lady had been eyeballing your Latino stranger herself and got irritated that he came over to you.
Usually, when someone pokes into your personal business and tries to control your choices, it's really all about them and their own insecurities and has little or nothing to do with you ;)

It's not like good looking dark brothers and sisters are out there starving. Date what you're into. Having a preference isn't being COLOR STRUCK so long as you're don't treat darker and lighter people different in general.

Ms. J...I called and we had a good laugh about this conversation...as we know, we are alike in this area...but I would have gotten real ignorant with that lady...people trying to control/influence people's decision...yeah that sounds "real back in the day"..I'm glad you stood you ground...I hope u see Rafael again!!!
