Kamiseya 上瀬谷 - a good place to fly a kite in Yokohama

If you live in Yokohama and love flying kites, you would quickly realize that there aren't that many places to fully enjoy this hobby, well except the few beaches in the south. In the Seya Ward (inland) of Yokohama, at the place called Kamiseya there is an U.S. Naval Support Facility. The base keeps the gates open to general public and offers 200m of flat land with short grass, free of electric lines and tall buildings. Maybe people fly kites there, do picnics or enjoy time with pets. Parking is free of charge and gates are locked at 7 p.m.
