Watching this makes me shed a tear- not for sentiment, but it sternly reminds that film musicals were already dying by 1979- and that was more than 30 years ago. And the great Ann Reinking was the film musical heiress apparent to ladies like Cyd Charisse, Carol Haney, Shirley MacLaine, and Juliet Prowse. But sadly, there would not be many more musical films following this one- and even fewer featuring dance. So thank God for this stellar execution from 'legs-for-days' Ms. Reinking.

I don't know why Fosse had this need to ruin his work by over cutting everything. It's brilliant. WE WANT TO SEE IT ALL!

None of those damn pussycat dolls can dance like this! Bob Fosse was a genius. And Ann Reinking is a goddess.
