Buffet has his money in a huge battery company from hong kong, I'd bet he will be even richer in another ten years when around 20 percent of the cars are Ev's
Yes, green peace said it would do nothing for the environment because we RAISED the allowed amount of carbon emissions because the bill needs political strength. Yes the price of energy will sky rocket as it should because we need to deter people from using energy that is harmful to the planet. I'm a HUGE advocate of the free market but this is common sense, the free market has no interest in fixing anything until demand rises... so until the tidal wave is hitting my house no one will care.
If you want to learn more about cap & trade, then watch the video cap & trade: what is it? by ecogeek. Along with that, cap & trade isn't exactly a tax, but a fee to corporations in violation. The only way that this would, or could, seem like a tax is that corporations would raise their prices for goods due to the fees for violation, or buying more pollution credits.
(Watch the video it does a good job explaining it!).
The really bad thing about this is that the Obama Admin knows that they are going to be burdoning the Middle Class to the point of failure and decline.
It looks like this is their plan for us. Why else would they do this now, in one of the worst economies in U.S. History.
This is not some loonie pie-in-the-sky conspiracy theory, we are watching them do this to us, live on C-SPAN.
gee, i wish our congressman would pay more attention to what they vote on. even obama said this was going to cause energy costs to skyrocket. can you say jimmy carter? gas lines, energy rationing, that is what we have to look forward to with this legislation. greenpeace said it would do nothing for the environment, so what is the point of this tax? nothing. it;s nothing but a rip off!
