The Calling Trailer

The trailer for the documentary film, The Calling. A groundbreaking four-hour documentary series that follows the stories of seven young Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, and Muslim Americans who are training for religious leadership. The series takes viewers into the unknown world of seminaries to reveal the real people "behind the robes." Produced by a multi-denominational team of filmmakers led by Series Director/Executive Producer Danny Alpert,
The Calling will air nationally on the Emmy® and Peabody Award winning PBS series Independent Lens, on Monday, December 20, 2010 and Tuesday, December 21, 2010, from 8-10pm CST and 9-11pm PST & EST (check local listings).

Good work. Artfully done. Challenges stereotypical models of what it means to be a religious leader. Challenges stereotypes of Muslims in particular. Lots to think about. Wishing well to each of these dynamic leaders. May God bless their efforts and enable them to do their best work in spite of the hardships, obstacles, and difficulties they face. What they do--it ain't easy!

The Muslim woman was the chaplain at my college (Mt Holyoke)!! What a shock when I was watching it and all of a sudden she's in my school, holy moly!
