All art shown at the Venice Biennale of modern art must be transported to the site by waterways, including the bulkiest pieces. That's not without risk as American artist Mike Bouchet learned: Having rafted the floating full-size family house he designed for the Biennale to its destination, he had to helplessly watch it sink slowly into the Venetian waves.

My uncle was the engineer who planned the whole thing for Bouchet. The house was sinkin coz of 2 problems: 1: for transporting they didnt put the house onto old tires, and so thei damage 1 of the pontons. That causes the house to swim skew. the next problem was that the workers forget to close the pontons with the caps. So all the other pontons start to float, too.
So it was a huge fail. but a FUNNY one.^^
Btw: thei got it out with a crane (must hav been very exensive)
