All art shown at the Venice Biennale of modern art must be transported to the site by waterways, including the bulkiest pieces. That's not without risk as American artist Mike Bouchet learned: Having rafted the floating full-size family house he designed for the Biennale to its destination, he had to helplessly watch it sink slowly into the Venetian waves.
