At the Punchbowl Festival, Stevenson Middle School Band plays GENTLY FLOWS THE AMBER GRAIN written by Brian Scott.
Brian Scott write, "one of the fondest memories of my youth was a cross coutnry trip my family took in early September to take my older brother to college in Utah. In the 2 week journey from New Jersey to Utah I ganed a deep appreciation and new found love of our vast and varied country. One of the many memories of our trip was driving through the Mid-West prior to harvest time. The unexpected beauty of the sea of grains turning golden brown was one that I will never forget. The most vivid scene I remember is just prior to sunset with the sun low on the horizn, its orange and red hues glowing on the fields of harvest grain that are gently undulating with the early evening fall breezes. It is this scene that Gently Flows the Amber Grain attempt to depict." Featuring Hee Won Lee on an oboe solo.
The seat next to me was empty because Claire was playing suspended cymbals.
