Lively rendition of Livery Stable Blues by Muggsy Spanier and his gang. Recorded on the UK label His Masters Voice about 194?. Good tune. Enjoy!

  • A classic recording!

  • wow never thought I would get to hear this again! one the first jazz records i bought in uk about 63 years ago now .. and still as fresh as ever !

    much thanks

  • The underrated Rod Cless on clarinet.

  • Yeah, this was made when Muggsy was making his comeback (after spending time at the Touro mental hospital) - Muggsy's Ragtime Band recordings for Bluebird/Victor/HMV etc. were made in the U.S. in 1939.

Some of the best Muggsy had to offer were these 1939 Ragtime Band recordings - great stuff.
