This is the Hauppauge HD PVR in Action. I first show how it runs while hooked up to my Laptop, then I show how the whole system is hooked up together, and finally show a sample video capture in all it's glory.

Questions? Click here: http://www.zeitgeistgamereview.com/how-to-record-video-games/

The captured video is from the opening cinematic from Star Ocean: The Last Hope for the Xbox 360, captured in 1080i.

On the Mac, I am running EyeTV 3.1 to do the video capturing. It captures in native mp4, so you don't have to do any conversion.

  • How Do You Get No Lag

  • @MaSheenery You don't, there is always video lag to the computer. You can't use your computer as the system you play your game on, you need a TV and a computer.

  • Whats the difference with gaming edition?

  • @TechMainDownloads I believe it comes with the cables that hook directly into the 360 and PS3. You probably already have these cables though.

  • What cables do you need?

  • coulda shown some of that "delay" you spoke of...

  • CHECK OUT MY CHANNEL GIVEAWAY its small channel so you could WIN

  • @sydneysmit no really you just need a good RAM and optional a good GRAPHICS card.. so it wount go offsync when you playback..

  • @CannibalSmash1 if your talking about when its done recording and you select t for playback on your cpu.. then its because you either have the resolution t low on your cpu or your graphics card cant handle the high quality but once uploaded to youtube it should be normal.. no need to worry

  • @McURDIL yea it does, you need to get the download software from google though

  • Do you need a good laptop plz reply

  • do you need a strong pc to record ? I know you need one to edit the gameplay but just for the recording ?
