  • @fubecabr Very good, exactly as you say. And that is the reason, that diesels must have benefits. Because they are heavier and less powerful than gasoline engines with the same content. So, if we had the same rules for diesel and petrol, so diesel is no chance... My opinion...

    I like petrols and diesels. For a car, I prefer a high-revving petrol engine with a 6 speed manual tranny. For a truck, I like a diesel.

    Yes, the rules for Le Mans are different for diesel and petro. That's because liter for liter and kilo for kilo, diesel is at a distinct disadvantage for specific power output and power to weight ratio, especially if the diesel doesn't have a turbo.

  • @fubecabr I know, because diesel is more economical and it is important for endurance racing... By the way - technical rules for Le Mans LMP1: N/A petrol engines - max. 3400ccm or 2000ccm with turbo, diesel 3700 ccm with turbo... Can you see difference? Diesel may have 80% higher content than turbo petrol engines and 10% higher content than N/A petrol engine... Practicaly many more than 10% content, because diesel engine is turbocharged... Finally - I like petrol, you like diesel. The end...
