It is hard to believe this occurred in the U.S. One would think it was a 3rd world country. There were hero's those days after the storm who made a difference "U.S. Coast Guard". Many more came to aid our fellow citizens but not in the timeline we expected. There are a lot of fingers we can point but the lesson that should be learned is how we can never forget and never let this happen again. Disasters will always occur but we must learn to respond faster and preplan to evacuate everyone.

I can't help but to come to tears when i see how these people lost their homes and their loved ones. it's just sad and I know that this is something that they will never get over.

I am going to New Orleans next week on business. Even though I only live 3 hours north of N.O. i have not gone there since Katrina. My husband is a powerline worker that went there about a year after the storm to do some repairs and he said it was heartbreaking. I just don't know what to expect after such a tragedy. I just can't help but think about the many people who lost there lives and all I can do is pray for their families. No judgement, just prayer. We all should try that!!!
