The Prabanan complex has got to be one of the most splendid places of worship on this planet.

Hardly and it was Hindu kings that completed the Buddhist complex at Borobudur.

stupid comment
I thought this ancient temple was badly damaged by the earthquake in 2004?
How come you could enter the complex when it has been closed off to stop parts collapsing on the people.

I provide dates for each complete video in the film itself and on my website. The short clips do not have dates. My trip to Bali and Java was in 2002, which answers your questions.

If you were to watch this entire video of Bali and Java, "Gamelan, Garuda, and Ganesh", reachable by asking a search engine for:
Intreid Berkeley Explorer , you would see that Gamelan music is dominant, especially in the Bali segments.
I decided that for Prambanan on Java it would be best to use entirely different music. For Hindu temples in this style, which I associate with India, the sitar, also identified with India.
My odd musical choices also include western songs.
