    Lydia's persona has always been very abrasive, sort of like a female GG Allin (minus the scat). I'm not saying she's especially smart, but she's pretty hard. She grew up in low-income circumstances compounded with repeated childhood abuse. People find this type of personality less acceptable in women, as evidenced by the comments here.

    "Just because you grew up in hard circumstances does not give you permission to project your insecurities on other people" Nobody needs permission to express themselves in this country in case you hadn't noticed. Also the double standard is clearly evident when you consider that when male entertainers get criticized for being abrasive or hostile towards certain people or groups, people rally around them crying "censorship!"
