  • Did I hear Mr. Payne say 'By golly, that's some harmonica playin'!, or something to that effect at the end? I agree he plays grrrrrrrrreat!

  • Yeah, that was me. At that time, I was the only person in Ohio without an accent...;)

  • I could listen to that all day.

  • Awesome!

So glad I was there to see Rupert play live!

Thanks for sharing this on YouTube Dave !

  • I invited him down for the Deer jerky gang at Buckeye... but, he was evidently too busy kicking ass on the Low C Forty Seven.

You're the man, by the way, Mojo.

  • Rupert is one of the nicest guys in the biz. He has been my POC for Seydel for awhile and has also tweaked a couple for me. When I heard this song I just had to know the 5 W's about it so Rupert told me it was from an old Sugar Blue tune in the key of Low C. I have worked with a couple in the Low keys for Collard, Greens & Gravy. Well I got me a Low C and even found the CD with this song "ANOTHER MAN GONE DOWN" Now I just have to learn it SB only has the drums backing him on it KOH Brasso

  • Sounds good! * * * * *

  • is that a ten hole? cool

  • I'd be SO sad if there wasn't..I've written to Jack, cc'ing harp-l, asking ANYone to respond about whether there's going to be one..and nobody's gotten back to me yet. It would suck big time..it was my first harp convention. I have such neat memories of YOU playing there, too..

  • Hey I heard there is not going to be a buck eye this year? do you know anything? i'll call you...

    J

  • yeah...and it sure sucks that you missed Buckeye too. It's never the same without you there: we need you so the blues guys will show up and for me,just to hang out with and get to hear you blow the roof off the place ;)

  • Rupert! Properly pronounced 'Ru-Pair' if your nasty rules and David of the Payne order rules for posting this. It totally sucks I missed Buck Eye this year. Hatin' it now.

  • Loving this guy. Back porch blues at its best!!

  • Miss...he's as great a guy in person, too. Always willing to give advice and tweak a harp when necessary...I'd seen a video of him playing Stranger on the Shore on a Low, low F a year or so back, but this was a big surprise...having him do this amazing song at Buckeye. Had no idea he could do this...Blew me away.
