The Republic Parks & Recreation Department, in a cooperative effort with the Ozarks Multisport Club, hosts the annual Republic Tiger Tri. The 4th running of this race took place on August 14, 2010, at 7:00 a.m., at Miller Park in Republic, MO. The Tiger Tri, presented by Sunshine Bike Shop, is sanctioned by the USA Triathlon Organization and is also a part of the 2010 Ultramax Multi-Sport Series. It is a sprint style triathlon, an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in competing in a triathlon for the first time, but challenging enough for even the most experienced triathletes. The triathlon features a 300 yard swim which is conducted in four to five feet of water at the Republic Aquatic Center, a 12.2 mile bike ride over rolling Ozark hills and a relatively flat 3.1 mile run course through residential portions of the city.
