In honor of the 25th anniversary of the release of Super Mario Bros, Nintendo of Australia has produced this video showing the history of everyone's favorite super plumber.

It's slightly different from the Japanese video (which I also have posted.)

This video was made by KOO-KI, Fukuoka, a Japan-based creative studio. Check them out here:

  • Can you upload the US one, please?

  • @adamsrb2 Just added. :)

  • Why don't the US division give us somethin'?

  • @Poever My understanding is that they're planning on waiting until next March, when it will be the 25th anniversary of the game reaching North America. (It came out in the US in March, 1986)

  • now they need to add super mario 3D land to it

  • in Japan they call it Super Mario USA but Super Mario Bros 2 was released also in Europe and Australia,

people think that the real Super Mario Bros 2 was too hard for Americans but how about Europeans and Australians, is not like the real Super Mario Bros 2 was released in those regions

  • @beastlycharizard13 i don't know, but there is no big difference between the US and Australia except the rating system, i think also for Europe is a same only they use PEGI, Super Mario Bros 2 was released only in Japan, not in US, not in Europe not in Australia

  • is there one of these for Europe?

  • The only game that you showed that I don't have is mario sunshine

  • @brinmat Not true it was released in NY and other major cities in october of 1985. The rest of the Union got the game in march of the next year.

  • Is funny: "Super Mario 2", but in Japan is "Super Mario USA"

  • australia got mario madness as their smb2 too? i'm guessing japan only got the real one.(lost levels)

  • @brinmat - Disregard my previous comment, they just announced it. They're following Japan quite closely!

  • @Poever - Oh, lucky you guys - you'll be happy to hear that they just announced it for the US. I saw on Kotaku just then.
