Introducing a demo reel using the Wii U, showing off Dx10 technology and how it can improve general lighting and overall experiance with any game. Dx10 has many if not all features Dx11 includes, including better lighting and particle effects, as well as tessellation and improved framerate over Dx9 originally was capable of. With DirectX 10/11 coming to consoles, it can finally become the next mainstream Dx level and be used at it's full potential.

Get ready for the Wii U, which will sport a larger age group with the help of third party developers like DICE, Ubisoft, Eidos, and much more. Not only that, but sport Native 1080p resolutions with both MLAA and AF which will enhance smoothing edges beyond what normal consoles have at the moment.

In-Game Settings and Performance:
Framerate: 35 Average
Native Resolution: 1920x1080
DirectX: 10

Video Settings:
Rendered Under: 1280x720
File Format: WMG
Framerate: 30
Size: 118mb

  • @TortillaGaming Still, looks like 'PC game development' is coming back with a storm (Meaning PC in mind or PC-exclusive entirely being developed.)

You ever check out Natural Selection 2? I just recently preordered it (Which gives you early beta... although it feels like an Alpha still) and it's a lot of fun, and the engine has some awesome features (One of my faves, every light being dynamic to dynamic terrain or infestation.)

  • @silenceyouidiot Wasn't that game supposed to come out like 2 or 3 years ago?

Indeed, PC-exclusives are coming back but how long will that last, probably till the new consoles are out.

There are a few free games coming out for PC only and all of them look just as good if not better than the "console exclusives" Tribes Ascend and Blacklight Retribution (search for E3 2011 Deathmatch or the Tech Demo.)

  • @TortillaGaming They switched engines a few years back and have finally shown some improvements. The game is supposed to launch in Summer of this year, so I hope everything works out.

Blacklight Retribution does look impressive, it's already in closed-beta. As for the increased number of free2play games, I wonder if that's good or bad? We've seen a lot of good f2p, but will that end up taking over the PC-side of gaming with AAA titles?

  • DX10 does not support hardware tessellation, as well as many other DX11 features.

DX10 hardware, however, does support many of DX11's key features; pretty much everything but hardware tessellation.(which requires actual dedicated tessellation units)

  • @silenceyouidiot Looks like i'll have to find some more info on Natural Selection 2.

I don't think there are enough good f2p games yet but as long as they can keep the games balanced i.e. they keep micro transaction items for appearance only so that players who pay for items don't get a gameplay advantage and can keep the hackers way i think it will be ok.

BTW, I'm on the BETA of Blacklight and the game looks very good so far, runs good too, 100fps+ on a single 6970.

  • @MrSavior42 I own a Xbox 360, PS1, PS2, SNES and N64.

Everything you said is pretty much useless, like i said, have fun playing on your shitty 7 year old console hardware.

Your comment was unbelievably entertaining, "destroys you're rig" it does what? "Only an imbecile that has never developed a game "

That's all you have to say, really, at least i posted some good facts.

P.S. I obviously have a better idea and much more knowledge than you.

  • @MrSavior42 Oh, what are the components you're running that 'monster gaming rig' with?

  • @TortillaGaming

You obviously are a clueless fucking idiot with your PC elitist attitude that is laughable at best.Funny thing is that I have a monster PC gaming rig that absolutely destroys you're rig with ease and also own a 360 and PS3 as well.Only an imbecile that has never developed a game in his pathetic life would spew the idiocy that console gaming is ruining game development..Your lack of knowledge about game development has provided many of us with a good laugh...

  • @MrSavior42 Really? Search The Darkness 2 FIXED FOV.

You're just spurting crap, you're the one who obviously has no idea about what's going on, keep playing your 70 FOV, huge guns, not even 720p but up-scaled no AA/AF games on your shitty console.

  • @TortillaGaming

Your clueless rant about consoles holding back game development is laughable and idiotic at the same time. Thanks for the good laugh...
