Esquel train roll over accident

The Old Patagonia Express made famous by Paul Theroux

In May 2011, high winds ripped the roof off one car. The roof fell down in between two cars, derailed one which then caused the entire train to derail and roll over. No one was seriously injured. The cameraman and his group were first on the scene to give assistance.

The locomotive and cars were all recovered by June 1st 2011

Thank you for my video. ;-) Now all friends go well, but at the time was impressive. We had a friend on the train! We've helped people out, the wind was very strong, the last car was in balance and pitched with the wind.

That is just unbelievable!! We were there in Patagonia the same week riding our motorcycles and 3 of the riders got blown off their bikes!! It was one mighty storm we came through!! Thanks for posting
