and that proves that Fawkes should have pulled an Oliver Cromwell. If he were to have gotten elected to parliament and start a civil war, then the conspirators might have succeeded. Then again, Cromwell was probably a kid when this happened, so they wouldn't have known another way to do that I guess.

I really enjoyed this documentary, it was really entertaining and gave all the essential info in a nutshell and gave a well rounded argument by pointing out that it might have been a conspiracy all along.

I love the complete and utter downplay of the sort of oppression the Catholics were under
It had gotten so out of hand that in one event nearly the entire population of a town wandered around from village to dell killing every Catholic they came across. When it was all said and done they had killed over 325 people and not a ONE of the (bragging) participants in the unsanctioned pogrom ever even stood trial.
Burning that effigy is merely renewing a pledge to side with oppression.

the programme didnt say that fawkes knew what was coming at the execution, so he jumped of the platform head first and broke his neck.
