People do come up with weird defense mechanisms. One thing that is good about completing anything like this is the fact that it gives someone a strong accomplishment. When speaking confidence is a little knowned thing that can do the almost impossible when convincing people of a side. There is a natural test that any good leader musy accomplish, it is just not always known what it is.

Having a degree does give some merit to your case but yes wether you are right or not is determined by the old fationed metaphysical fact of just how reality is, nothing to do with how smart you are. Too often the human tendancy is to default on authority and ask for what education. Something that is otherwise needed is perverted as why have a debate if you are not confident in the others knowledge.
