http://www.chalenejohnson.com/carsmart - In this video, I share my personal example of how to respond to a frustrating email or communication in a way that motivates even when your first instinct is to be sarcastic, annoyed, angered or upset. I discuss the importance of slowing down, reading, re-reading and re-writing our communications so that the ONLY interpretation is a positive uplifting one. I discuss the critical effect leaders have on the team they motivate and how delicately our messages must be crafted to best inspire, lift and encourage the people we inspire.

Chalene Johnson is a life coach, motivational speaker, and successful entrepreneur. She shares more of her tips on personal and business development, as well as goals, communication and relationships and self improvement in her audio program CarSmart.

  • You always have a great message. Thank you for being a leader and motivator to so many people.

  • People do not remember what we do - where we live - but how we make them feel. Thank you for leading people to be good to others.

  • If everyone in the world were you, it would be a wonderful place all of the time! Thank you for your positive energy and thoughts Chalene. We'll get there, one mind at a time :)

  • Great message Chalene. I absolutely love your approach to coaching and teaching.

  • Love, Love Love this video the best part is that it couldn't be more true! We should all inspire each other to "Communicate to Motivate". Perhaps then it could has a trickle down effect, and wouldn't that be EXCELLENT for all of us!

  • awesome vid on leading and being a leader in ur circle of influence.

  • Great video. I forwarded it to my management staff to remind them how to communicate. :) Thanks Chalene!

  • Thanks for this Chalene. I am having back and forths with my son's teacher who is not in our corner about what is going on with him in school next year (he has Autism, they want him in one program, me another) and I can see her emails building on this premise. I need to write back to her, in a kind and practical way, with suggestions on how to fix the problems she seems to want to emphasize and make it seem we are working together.... I gotta go TJ now!

    Thanks you awesome chick!

  • I love you so much! :) Thanks for the video!! :)

  • yup, but please don't confuse with kiss butt to someone. Its more like saying thank you for being you. Because you can either learn from a person or guide not teach but guide a person to a path for which they desire. I'm not saying we all get together to sing kum by ya. But like that movie pay it forward...
