Hey Bill just pulled the trigger and bought the whole damn kit from MKM customs. I have been reading on the forums about the Black Onyx head gaskets failing and the OEM being the better gaskets?? Any failures over there? Or just bad installations going on over here. I am in Las Vegas that's the only reason my truck isn't In your shop. I think I have found a decent diesel shop out here. I was just wondering about these gaskets basically just want to know if you are still using them and if you ar

@skramhp We have had good luck with the black gaskets. Make sure the machine work is done correctly to the heads.

My neighbor just purchased an 04' 6.0 with a lot of neglect.

He recently had starting issues. Im no P.S fan or owner but do learn a LOT from you.

I suggested for him to check HPOP,FICM,ICP, EGR system, INJECTRS, etc.He looked at me like I was crazy,I told him that him having no coolant in his tank was CRAZY. Paid me no mind so off it went to the dealer. ANYHOW, my questions is the following: I did notice that his OIL FILLER CAP was WARPED. Is that a sign of excess BLOWBY or a SHOT motor?

@whereispg Actually the oil filler cap gets distorted by setting it on the battery when pouring oil. The acid will eat at it.
