  • awsome, wish we could do that were I live, there sure would be alot less violence, I mean what kinda criminal wants to really attack a guy or gal with a firearm on there side in plain view, hmmmm,

  • Doesn't really happen, if at all. All the fear of that is totally baseless.

  • what do you mean totally baseless, I don't understand exactly what your sayin pullnshoot25

  • Minimum weight for a cop is around 120 pounds, my Glock weighs about 3 pounds loaded.

Response time for a cop to arrive is about 2.3 minutes, my gun responds in about a BANG!

The law says I can no longer carry my gun when I go out to run errands, spend money in local businesses, and contribute to the local economy. The law says I can carry my gun, if I have grave fear of danger, or to assist a cop in making an arrest, but these are the reasons I want to carry my gun, while out of the house.

  • I open carry for two reasons: It's hard to conceal in Alabama in the summer and I'm an older person who is not able to run or get into a fist fight. Open carry, as defined by the Alabama Supreme Court, Reid vs. State, 1840, is defensive carry. The court also said that open carry is the only practical carry for defense of self and state. Definitely has a deterrent effect on the gangbanger wannabe types.

  • @matchesison Because you CANNOT find one instance of it ever happening so there is no point n looking. I live in Kansas City, Missouri, in one of the highest crime areas in the nation. I carry open everywhere I go. I don't live in some commy infested craphole like almost any city the people's republic of California, and chula vista certainly would not scare me. I walk in the "Paseo" at night, with one of the highest murder rates in the country. So nice try. I am an army vet, too, and not a sheep

  • @petertrast im not going to go waste my time looking for newspaper articles when what im saying is common sense. and of course no one is going to give you shit when youre in fuckin la jolla or whatever other upscale mall you in. head on down to chula vista and see what happens to you and your open carry gun.

  • @MrTycap

Can't legally carry concealed without a permit in many states, and getting a concealed carry permit is nigh impossible, unless you're well connected, wealthy, a celebrity, or what not.

Thus law abiding citizens resort to the only method of carrying that is available to them.

Laws regarding this kind of thing are rather silly. As a matter of fact in California, if I have a fixed blade knife of *any* length (even if it's only 2 inches), I must carry it openly on a sheath at my waist.

  • These guys are BEGGING for attention holy Shiz.

  • @petertrast As of that point in my life it was the first time i saw open carry. I thought it was some what comical. I just think its a little odd that nine guys go to the mall open carry and one guy comes out with an actual bought product...seems like its for show..but nontheless me personaly i would have it concealed..

  • @MrTycap You are way too interested in the size of his man parts, dude...

  • @MrTycap Yeah, sucks you wasted all that time pumping iron, huh? ;) Just kidding. Many cops and soldiers are in excellent shape but they carry. Wonder why? Oh yeah, muscles are USELESS against firearms. Go ahead and bring your biceps to a gunfight. It's a free country. You make an interesting point though. Brainless muscleheads probably won't be dishing out swirlies to these guys... lol

  • @matchesison OK, when has an open carry person ever been shot. Just cite one instance please. i can cite THOUSANDS of times when concealed carriers were victimized because the criminal did not KNOW they were carrying. If anyone can link to an instance in this century where a regular citizen, not a cop, was shot because they were open carrying, I will reconsider hiding my weapon.
