Doug Lang : Hope And Faith And Glory

The way the modern freeway system created bypass routes - leaving so many instructional stories and small town legacies to dry up, roads no longer going through them - is not so dissimilar to how mainstream media conglomerates have created a high-speed news-way that flies right past the truth and history of America. This song is based on a trip along a dying old highway, a random encounter with Will Geer in old California, and going through old stories and recordings to remember things which inform the present. "Hope And Faith And Glory" was recorded at home some years ago on an Aiwa cassette recorder. Many of the photographs are from the archives of Dorothea Lange.
