On September 20, 2011, the discriminatory Don't Ask, Don't Tell law ended. Gay, lesbian and bisexual service members can now be honest about who they are. However, transgender people still have to hide, because they were not included in the repeal of DADT.
Across the country, LGBT people celebrated this horrible law ending. In thousands of parties across the country, people observed a Moment of Silence to honor those who still have to serve in silence. This was the SLDN Atlanta's Moment of Silence.
