In Full: President Obama speaks at a White House news conference about working together with the new Republican majority in the House to help the American people through tough economic times.
"make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State...
I'm not a snob so please don't think I'm going to use textual tidbits to prove my point. As I stated before go the extra mile read fully and be enlightened and you too can be called a snob for speaking fact not opinion.

You're almost correct. At that time they were still worried about religious doctrine being the primary source of law instead of the guiding force of law. That is why the judicial system was designed to ensure the spirit of the constitution is upheld and strike down laws that don't coincide with it. I am not being a snob just letting you know this is what the last interpretation by our supreme court has stated. They are the highly educated snobs I'm just a highly informed parrott
looool quoting CNN or MSNBC... well I can bet that you watch mostly Fox.news and that is sad... oh come on entire hall laughed at her when she had no clue that USA has separation of church and state and she is rly poorly educated like most of those tea party members and btw that tea party is supported by few billionaires and their company's example - Koch Industries who simply want to low government regulations on their business...and I'm done... watch something else then fox.news
@lordtek2k2 Ahhh, I see. Then, with your superior education, maybe you can enlighten us dolts as to when and why he wrote it? Your comment is that of a child like mentality, no offense, but you do understand that it is not in the Constitution then?
The term was used in a letter to describe what and why was being written into the Constitution. It was never intended to be used in the manner it is today...only to ensure that the government could not force you to a certain religion only.
@Drumboy5165 I don't want to be mean. But the term.. separation of church and state was given to us as explanation by one of the authors of the constitution. You obviously have a public education that did not teach you to learn more on your own and obviously did not take any sophomore civics classes in college. I strongly suggest you do some historical reading. I'm not trying to insult you. I'm just pointing you to the truth. Its up to you to move in the right direction.
WOW. You are all a bunch of idiots if you think your party is the right party. Lets be real they all look out for themselves. Clinton admin. FTA's(Free trade agreements) is where your jobs went out of the country but that's ok if you had stock in those companies. Bush admin deregulated the bank system this is the true source of the housing crash but that's ok if you were watching CSPAN and started flipping houses. We blame parties but not ourselves... get real people or just get had status quo

@iluminat645 OK, let's. Tea Party members...what do they want? Please explain in detail for us. Second, if you watch the clip, she was directly asking for the others to SHOW her in the Constitution where it specifically says 'separation of church and state'..why did she ask this? Please be specific. The reason is there is no 'separation of church and state' in the Constitution. I truly am believing you are only quoting CNN or MSNBC sound bites! Please review before coming back. Thank you!!

@lordtek2k2 Now, since you were obviously educated to be a snob to others, would it be possible that I made the last post crystal clear? No offense.
