  • Where did you get this video, I saw this opera in NYC. It's a good production. I enjoyed the show and the how the director made this. Although, this production reminds me the LION KING musical. well, same director. but well done. saw the director and the composer took bow at the opening show. nice performance.

  • Mozart took a bow?? :O

  • Sacrilège!!! Pas en anglais!!! Why,why? This was an opera written in german...each langage is a music in itself. The singer are good but this is not the real magic flute....What is the interest of such a translation when there are subtitles in nearly every opera scene???

  • Okay. This was done in ENGLISH, for CHILDREN, and I think it's an amazing way to present opera to today's younger generation. Not to mention, this song itself is good =]

  • @Tenderness6 I already found her it's Ying Huang.

  • Who is this gorgeous woman?

The Met just did the whole of this opera in German. Yes, it often does operas in their intended languages and uncut. This was just a performance meant for kids. Relax.

  • @CONTESTAR From my understanding, THE MET is performing this opera in a shortened 90 min version in english intended for families with young children (like you said) as an introduction to opera. The bright lavish costumes makes it more of an appeal to children. Not to mention the english.
