HealthBeat Brooklyn: O.R. In The Schools Program

From Brooklyn Independent Television's "HealthBeat Brooklyn." Original airdate June 2, 2009. Take a look at this educational program created by Brooklyns Lutheran Medical Center. Each year medical professionals visit classrooms across the borough armed with scalpels, prongs, tubing, gauze and scrubs and set up shop between desks and book bags. Then, surgery is performed. Luckily the patient is a mannequin and theres no blood to clean up afterward, but the experience created might inspire future nurses, doctors and anesthesiologists.
