I`ve read almost all the books on this list and this is STUPID. These are amazing books, I vauch for the ones I have read. They will teach your kids right from wrong better then any teacher on whose classes they are sleeping from boredom. How can anyone ban The kite runner or The lovely bones?

@MsJA12 I dont think profanity and cheap sexual thrills can teach anyone anything but immoral behaviour. Todays society degrades the development of morals in our kids because of so called powerful writing, films and drama.

Books are there for a reason: to tell a story and make a point. Each of these books (with the exception of Twilight) has a powerful story to tell and teenagers should be encouraged to read them to open up their minds. If parents keep banning books the next generation will be so unaware of powerful writing. As if teenagers aren't up to some of the stuff in the books anyway.....

regarding books with sexual content: seriously, parents and school officials are acting as if their kids are getting off on and masturbating to the sex and rape scenes when they're reading the books for the actual plot. They're acting as if their kids are really sexual beings about to ignite. and at the same time, they're claiming to do this to shelter their innocent babies. They might as well ban the news. Every day the local news reports a murder in my city and once a week, a rape.

the twilight series should stay banned not because of content but because of the amount of mary-sue-ness there is in those books
