While touring Sweden I stopped over at world-famous Gransfors Bruks to see how they make their hand forged axes. This was a great experience watching their blacksmith ply their trade and bring their great quality axes to us.

  • thats the guy who made my axe then hes so cool his initia;s are on my axe lol so cool

  • Sweden rule !

  • Thanks for sharing the vid! I did a forging course there in 2007. It was fucking hard work to make an axe with hammer and anvil. But great fun !!! Will go there for a damascus course this year.

  • @themgs12345 it's better they do it that way, if they hand hammered it they would have to keep reheating it to keep working it, and heating would lower the carbon content, making it weaker.

  • Thanks for posting this video...

  • that's fucking rediculous, they don't use hammers, get a fuckin life

  • @MarcoMontana22 if they were going to make that many axes by hand they whould have used a LOT more time to make them.. i bet they would rather forge them by hand aswell.

  • Thank you, I would love to go and spend some time in Sweden. Almost all of my outdoor kit comes from there. It would be great to take and see it being made.

  • I really love the video, but seeing a power hammer doing the work... I always anticipated each head was black smithed individually by hand and given personal care. This just seems to automated assembly line.

  • Had to comment on this, this is a great video thank you for sharing it!!!!!
