Bill Lowenburg, author of The Zorki Chronicles, describes his visit to the Paulinskill Viaduct, located in Knowlton Township, near Blairstown, New Jersey. The viaduct was constructed from 1908 - 1910 for the Erie Lackawana railroad. At the time it opened, the bridge was the second largest poured concrete structure in the world. Its sister bridge, located about 7 miles away in Portland, PA, was the largest. Lowenburg fictionalized these two locations, combining them into one bridge located outside the fictional town of Pocono Flats, PA, in his forthcoming novel The Zorki Chronicles.
