one of the things that is being random tested is that you no longer need thousands of subs to be a partner. remember that famous wedding video few months back.... that one video alone could have made that couple some nice extra cash.
if youtube wanted they could just make all that go away but they're trying all sorts of things to try & make that $1.6 billion back. it is a business.

Keep doing YOU Bruh!! Believe it or not, I NEVER (EVER) heard of Shane Dawson until you & Dave mentioned him recently. I checked out Dawson's channel and won't return...not my flavor! Anyway, I look forward to your upcoming projects, and you'd LOL at my fridge...gotta stock up on the drinks Mayne!!
...and keep in mind that goole being a publicly traded company, wll street dictates what their earnings should be in each aspect of their business & i can tell you for a fact that youtube is no where close to meet those expectations. this is the one arena that they are having massive troubles with & if they could go back in time i doubt they would have bought youtube. it is their regret however it is what it is & i wouldn't be suprised if they spun it off next couple years as its own entity.

They asked me to sign up for revenue sharing when one of my videos became very popular ('Prank Phone Call' gone wrong), and I PASSED!

youtube in its early days was great because it was a tiny company with no money. thats why companies like emi/sony/colombia etc never went after then for copyright violations. but than here come the giant google paying what $1.6 billion for them.... well now you got a "publicly traded company" with multi billions just cash alone sitting in their account. all the sudden there was law suites left & right from everyone & google had no choice but to inforce the copyright rules/laws onto it's users.

Thanks. The thing is most YouTubers who are trying to become 'Partners' are in for a rude awakening. This partnership thing is overrated unless you have 50-100K subscribers. If that's not the case, you might get mere pennies while trying to become the next big thing on You Tube.

Yeah Kev, YouTube (in addition to other major social arenas) is advertised as a FREE site, but is quite the OPPOSITE on so many levels. I applaud ChiCity for staying TRUE!
